Richard Thompson: Since co-founding Thompson Clive in 1977, Richard has successfully invested in the pharma and biotech services, enterprise software, IT services and B2B e-commerce industries. He is active with the portfolio companies and currently serves on the board of directors of several privately held technology companies. Prior to Thompson Clive, Richard was with the Rothschild Group as Chief Executive and Joint Managing Director of New Court & Partners, its venture capital wing. He qualified as a chartered engineer with Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners and then joined the P-E Consulting Group, where he eventually became the Director for the worldwide corporate strategy practice. Richard holds an MA in mechanical sciences from Cambridge University.

Colin Clive: Educated at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received a BSc. He then joined IBM and spent several years with the company before attending the Harvard Business School where he obtained an MBA. Subsequently, he joined the Bankers Trust Company and, after becoming a Vice President, he returned to London for them where he was instrumental in helping to start up and develop a number of successful companies. He left to join the Rothschild Group as an Executive Director of a number of industrial and other holdings before becoming Joint Managing Director of New Court & Partners. He left in 1977 to co-found Thompson Clive & Partners.
